The academic year 2006-2007 was the inagural year of the British Inter-university China Centre. The events that took place during this period ranged from visitig speaker talks to interfaces with local government. Visiting Speakers

A number of distinguished scholars held lectures and seminars as part of the BICC visiting speakers initiative.

Kent County Council China Strategy

January 12-13 2007. A series of seminar discussions providing access to experts on Chinese local government, economics, business, and development for officials from Kent County Council.

Researching Modern Chinese History

February 3-4 2007. A conference designed to help postgraduate students locate and use archival material.

China, Italy and the World: Republican Foreign Relations

September 7-8 2007. A collaboration between the University of Venice and the University of Bristol.

BICC Lectures at the Bath Royal and Literary Scientific Institute

A regular lecture series designed for a wider audience thatn the academic community.
